Today, after growing frustration with iOS, I made the decision to go Android and buy the Google Pixel 6.
I’ve not had that much exposure to Android, in fact my last real interaction was when my housemate had a Samsung Galaxy SE and asked new to help with removing roaming as she was heading to Europe within the hour; I floundered as I couldn’t find a thing.
Of course I’m not on Samsung here, and that was over a decade ago, so things have progressed with the platform a little. Why Pixel and not Samsung? I wanted less bloat, and didn’t feel like playing an extra several hundred for no good reason.
Migration was relatively painless taking just 20 minutes with cables connected between devices; I didn’t have a great amount of data, mostly photos and a few videos. I continue to set apps up and have had to apply two system updates, including Android 12.
One complaint surround ringtones, shit they’re awful. I must buy something to replace them as I can’t be seen having these okay should I get a phone call, some are just outright hide the bloody phone.
Still much to explore and learn here.
