Helping to Focus

I updated to iOS and iPadOS yesterday, nice updates, especially for iPadOS users who finally get homepage features we’ve enjoyed on iOS for the past year.

New in iOS/iPadOS 15 though is one feature I’m excited about, particularly given study, Focus. Use those Apple has definitely defined or define your own. For study, I have defined two, the first I’d naturally called Studying, the less strict of the two, allowing just family through if they called, but app notifications are a no go.

My second is targeting assessments when I’m having to record videos, there’s nothing more annoying when recording and a text comes through, a call, or app notification and you’re forced to restart your efforts and find that ‘focus’ once more; “Recording” locks everyone and anything out giving by yours truly peace of mind.

For the moment it’s not truly useful as macOS 12 is as yet unreleased, though it will arrive shortly, so convenience not too far away. This mode conveniently notifies those who contact me that I’m in a Focus mode and uncontactable.
