When Apple replaced the home button on the iPhone with a software equivalent we doubtless rejoiced. The old home buttons were prone to failure with frequent use, thus their software equivalents with no physical parts could only be better, right?
Generally, yes. Sometimes, no. We gained a little extra screen realestate with the button’s disappearance, but also lost functionality too. That’s one thing that becomes evident when you want to get from several layers within iOS to the Home Screen, it’s the curse of a million swipes to get there. There’s no quick way to get there, not that I’ve found.
It would always seem when I need to get to the Home Screen to load the SafeWA app to check into a venue I’m deep into a set of screens and it takes nigh on half an hour to get to home; so frustrating. I wonder if iOS 15 might resolve this at all?
