Is there anything worse than a crap coffee? Anyone who loves a good coffee will often have a preferred coffee venue or two, having of course tested the waters at several places along the way. Often choice comes down to taste, a venue’s choice of beans will determine people’s preferences.
At home, if you’re not so gifted as your local barista in preparing your favourite coffee, cappuccino being my own, it comes down to relying upon the tech. Over a year ago now my Nespresso milk frother finally surrendered and panic ensued, the hunt was on to replace.
Initially, I was intending to replace with exactly the same as it had worked reasonably well. However, capacity of the Nespresso unit was small and on occasion it had overflowed, so I decided to investigate options. I settled on an inexpensive option back then, a Sunbeam Cafe Creamy Milk Frother. At the time I purchased it worked reasonably well, however, since September I’ve had to swap to oat milk due to becoming intolerant to milk, and this unit is very hit and miss as to whether it will actually froth it just heat the milk. Usually, it is just heated; a very disappointing result.
Today, I decided to purchase a new milk frother that we use at work, the Breville The Milk Cafe Milk Frother. At more than twice the price the other unit I’m certainly hoping it does a better job, though it rarely fails at work. Fingers crossed for better coffees now at home, though they’ll never compete with those I enjoy when heading out.
