I’m currently catching buses to and from work as my insurer works to effect minor repairs to my Mazda CX-5, someone having reversed into me several weeks ago.
It’s been a few years since I last needed to catch a bus, it would seem a few cowboys have been employed since then. When last I caught a bus say five years ago, again following someone hitting my car (hmmm!), the drivers had a propensity for taking corners as though they were in formula one racing cars.
Back then, however, drivers seemed to understand what each of the traffic light colours meant. These past few days driver after driver has done their level headed best to drive through lights that are actually red. Either they are barrelling towards an orange light and make no attempt to slow down, failing to appreciate it is about to change to red, or it has changed to red as occurred today and just drive through.
Have road rules changed for bus drivers in Western Australia and I missed it? These guys are just a tad gung ho and need to learn to slow down, or is it that they’re under pressure to get back to the terminal to meet timetables?
