Oh why’d I go there?

I stayed behind a little extra at work today to complete some training on Epigeum as things were quiet finally. I left work maybe fifteen minutes later than normal, but chuffed I’d achieved another 100% for one of my attempted modules.

I decided on my way home I’d head by the IGA I liked in Ocean Reef to pick up a few things, including the flavoured oat milk that they and a select few others stocked. As I was leaving I checked my reversing camera as I always do, I was clear, so I began to reverse. As I curved around and was just about to swap from reverse to drive “bang”, someone had smacked into the back of my car.

For crying out loud, I sure can pick ‘em! After a few choice words that’d make sailors blush I excited my car calmed somewhat, barely noticing the large dent in the upper portion of my car’s rear, instead seeing the much smaller protrusion to the bumper. I think the shock of it led me to forgetting to get his phone number, only getting a scan of his license.

Like many I don’t own a dash cam, and looking at the many systems online tonight to get a sense of these you’d be hard pressed to make an easy choice. Installation of a dual front and back system doesn’t look that easy and likely requires professional hardwiring; is it even worth getting such a system?

I’m just hoping now to hear from Center management that perhaps they’ve cctv footage from the car park to help support what I’ve claimed, this will at least help avoid me incurring a $600 excess, which seems a tad unfair when not at fault. Here’s hoping 🤞🏻
