To suggest that 2020 has been anything other than short of most people’s expectations might be a lie. We started the year with COVID-19 initially plaguing regions of China, but before we knew it had begun its spread far and wide. Now as we close out the year there have been 83 million infected and 1.81 million deaths.
Thankfully, with dedication of research teams around the world vaccines have been fast-tracked and are now being deployed. These vaccines provide the world with its greatest hope, as we enter 2021, of once again resuming a sense of normalcy, whatever this may look like going forward.
Let’s look forward to again being able to catch up with family and friends without worry; enjoying travel overseas to favourite and perhaps unseen destinations; rebuilding businesses and employment lost; and hopefully, eradicating this virus as best we can.
Happy New Year! May 2021 be a far better year for all.
