Phablet in your pocket?

It finally arrived yesterday, almost three weeks after my pre-ordering the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I only got a sense for the size of the phone the day before when I decided to open the clear MagSafe case curious to see what it looked like, there’d be little chance my using the phone one handed as I have always done.

Straight of the bat the first thing I’ll say about the new phone is the added weight, it’s heavy compared to last year’s iPhone 11 Pro, which I loved. Casting this aside, the added screen realestate really does improve the size of the onscreen keyboard for people with larger hands, I’ve always found issues with smaller phones and forever hitting the wrong letter, less chance now.

I went with the new gold colour iPhone this time, my iPhone 11 Pro I’d chosen the midnight green colour though never saw that as my chosen case hit it. This time, I’ve gone with Apple’s clear MagSafe case to show off the beauty of the gold whilst protecting the phone, it’s stunning. What did I happen to notice as I lay in bed and admiring the iPhone in its case, an eyelash in the case, ugh 🤦🏼‍♂️ The only negative to a clear case is their ability to show dirt that may creep behind, a non-clear case affords ignorance whilst for me clear means popping the iPhone out to clean periodically.

The speed of the new iPhone is great, very snappy. The extra memory is certainly noticeable, plus a faster chip inside. I’m looking forward to getting out and snapping a few photos over the weekend to test out the Pro Max’s enhanced cameras which are said to approximate that of a DSLR now with sensor-shift ois on one of the lenses.
