Talking to hear the sage advice of tidying expert Marie Kondo, I’ve been rearranging things at home to make more room for things that mean something to me, or as Kondo refers to it, “Sparks joy”.
I started with clothing using her folding method, I’ve been amazed that it has given me to spare drawers now to put other pants I’d run out of space using usual methods to store and had resorted to baskets. When folding I’ve also taken the opportunity to further refine my clothes, though only a little as I’d already substantially reduced this past year anyway, part of Kondo’s tidying process.
Though not strictly part of her process I sought to finally sell off old tech I had sitting around for no good reason. eBay was my friend here, listing my three year old iPhone X and iPad Pro 10.5 (2nd Generation) with Apple Pencil 1. To my utter amazement both devices were sold within hours of their being listed, this has never occurred with previous listings – so happy!
It’s funny the positive effect decluttering has upon your psyche, it’s like a weight has been lifted or that enjoyment you get when getting into a bed with new sheets.
Once my new iPhone 12 Pro Max arrives my iPhone 11 Pro gets listed. No longer going to hold on to things, a new leaf turned.
