Cradle my phone

At the start of the September, legislation came into effect in my state making it an offence to interact with your mobile phone, except to answer a phone call off in a mobile phone cradle.

I almost never call anyone, and with my car having inbuilt controls to answer and make calls there’s no great need for me to have a cradle. That was until a trip I decided to make next month to the south of the state by myself. Not having someone in the car they provide directions in an area which my regular mobile carrier’s coverage is known to be poor I’ve invested in a SIM card with the best network which should have coverage for sure. Thus, I’m also looking for a cradle for my spare iPhone.

On Saturday, I headed to the local Officeworks which had a cradle with inbuilt Qi charging that would slot into my air vent. I go to set it up, it’s missing the adaptor for the air vent, the USB cable is short, and when I plug it in to just test it with the phone, the cradle didn’t sense the phone and open; the USB port doesn’t seem to offer enough power and must need to run via the cigarette lighter with a special adapter.

So, seems I’ll need to return this one. I don’t think this first go cradle is big enough and I’ll need to look at a different company’s product. Anyone got advice for iPhone X / 11 Pro phones? Comment me please!
