No, the other left

I was heading into the city for a dinner party this evening, a location I rarely venture to if I can avoid it. To get to my friend’s place isn’t the easiest when exiting the freeway, the turns are just confusing and frankly I just f@$k it up every time.

Wanting to get it right tonight as time was not on my side, I opened Apple Maps on the iPhone and indicated the car park nearby to her apartment and I was off. As we left my suburb I noticed almost immediately something was amiss, a turn that should have been announced as ‘turn right’ was announced as ‘turn left’. I joked at the time “I think you mean ‘the other left’”.

As I came to the end of the freeway, that horrendous confusing part I was depending upon Maps to hopefully spare me from, I didn’t fare any better and ended coming off and having to loop through the city streets. Again, Maps told me to turn left not right, this time it wasn’t possible to turn left, so not even a case of just confusion or alternate (go the long way).

So Apple, how long again till iOS 14?
