Setting up my new rig

In preparation for working from home this coming Monday, a Covid-19 precaution, I decided I would (finally) replace my hutch desk that I’d purchased as a relatively new staff member back in 2001. It still functions perfectly, though it hasn’t sorted my needs for some time.

The hutch was truly designed for just a single monitor setup, so my two external plus laptop working environment these days had little chance of being accommodated. Until today I only had one external at home with my MacBook Pro, add to that now a gorgeous 4K Samsung curved screen and I’m not sure I’ll ever know how I lived without it. At work both external screens are 24 inch displays of the common variety, it will be painful to return to that once in back to campus again.

Still yet to add desk lighting, I’ve at least got scenes to inspire

If only I had wireless devices, all those cords makes for quite a mess.
