In late 2018, I had viruses attacking my lungs, the result was scarring and a partially collapsed left lung. Ever since Then I have continued to battle with issues, varying dependant upon the weather. With Coronavirus looming large I was amongst those who was at increased risk due to respiratory issues.
My employer has been assessing the risk day by day like most organisations. Today, knowing issues I’d had with my lungs, my supervisor suggested it was worth considering my trialling working from home, which required completing quite a few forms. I had to outline details of my home workspace area to identify risk, issues with electrical adequacy, oh&s, lighting, and even things like smoke detectors being fitted.
I hadn’t brought my laptop home before, so was impressed how much better windows 10 was to connect when compared to previous versions, windows xp I’m looking at you! whilst my home workspace is by no means as spacious as that at work, it will suffice in the short term whilst we see how I go.
I spent twenty minutes after getting home from work connecting to my wireless network, connecting all the cables (yuck!) and then setting up teams calling so I had my team members as favourites. Let’s see how we go, hey.
