It felt as if it may never arrive, when suddenly I was shutting down my work PC and saying “see y’all” next month. Though in reality I am dropping back on the 18th as a friend in the office is having a morning tea as she’s pregnant and about to head off for a year’s maternity leave.
One thing I do nowadays to help me relax and wind down from work is to disconnect from my workplace calendar, I have found when I don’t do this the regular notifications that flow through, and they are regular, tend to wind me up — stupid I know. It was amazing how turning these off during my recent two weeks off in October really did help me to unwind, I returned more relaxed, despite my back injury having flared up on day one.
Packing for the holiday
I started packing for my trip to Bali this morning, keen to see just how much I might be able to fit within my 25kg luggage allowance. I will admit it occurred to me to upgrade this to 30kg until I was faced with a $38 fee each way, which turned me off somewhat. Surprisingly, I had packed a number of shorts and tee shirts this morning, my first pair of thongs (I hate them) and a cap and so far my luggage is only at 9kg of which my new hard case bag is 4.4kg — WINNING! Going to a hot and humid country I am keen to have more to wear rather than less. I may actually have room for presents; typically my suitcases never more than millimetres in breathing space.
